[ARCHIVED] Housing authority seeks developer for Harbor Square property

Oct. 12, 2014 - The Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority seeks a qualified developer to work with the city on designing and developing the Harbor Square site downtown.

Hampton purchased the 14-acre property, former home of the Harbor Square apartments, a short while ago. While a new courthouse is being built on some of the land, the goal now is to build a high-density, multi-family, mixed-use development on the remaining property.

More information and a “Request for Qualifications” booklet is available on the Authority website under “Business Opportunities.”

You can also contact Joel Almquist, the Authority’s redevelopment manager, at 757-727-2686. The deadline to submit responses to the request is 4 p.m. Nov. 14, 2014.
