The main reason black bags are not collected by bulk trucks is that our operators can't see what is in the bag.
Unfortunately, items such as chemicals, paints, or other hazardous things can be punctured, torn, or damaged by the claw during the collection process, causing a hazardous spill at the collection site or spilling out of the truck throughout the city as it continues along its route.
Clear bags are for leaves and yard waste when placed curbside. Items such as furniture, boxes, junk, etc., can be placed separately so the operators can see what they put in the truck. Black bags can only be used for household trash and placed in your refuse container.
All garbage, bulk trash, limbs, yard waste, and tires are collected on the same day each week. View a map of the bulk limbs collection schedule.
