Can the city sign up to provide the new MyRA savings accounts for all employees?
Finance Department: The MyRA has not been established yet to my knowledge: In the State of the Union address, President Obama said he was authorizing the Treasury Department to create a starter savings account. However, the city currently offers a 457 plan through ICMA-RC and all employees are eligible to contribute, including part time & WAE employees. The 457 Plan allows participants to set aside pre-tax money (through payroll deductions) for retirement purposes. The member is free to choose how much they want to contribute.
