    Live music is back in Hampton! Downtown Hampton is ecstatic to present Live at the Point events. The eight-member Mashup & Cozy Condition are from Richmond and combine classic funk and modern production. Food and beverage vendors at this event will be Black Pearl, Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, and Polar Snow. This event is free and open to the public.

    The Department of Human Resources and Optima EAP are now registering for the next Lunch and Learn employee development series, Peer Coaching. The session will take place in a Zoom webinar so you can participate in your own space. You will receive the webinar link and instructions prior to the session and after all registrations are complete. This course presents coaching as a tool for promoting positive peer interaction. Discussion highlights the role and boundaries of a peer coach. Participants will learn ways to make meaningful connections with colleagues, to offer support in a manner that is productive and objective rather than critical and personal, and to appropriately recognize teammates’ efforts and contributions.

Hampton History Museum

  1. Hampton Carousel

    After being closed for over a year due to the pandemic, the Hampton Carousel opens for the 2021 season on June 1 with COVID protocols. Located in Carousel Park and operated by the Hampton History Museum, the former Buckroe Beach carousel is one of the City of Hampton’s most treasured historic assets. Built in 1920, the carousel is completely restored to its original beauty and housed in its own weather-protected pavilion at Carousel Park on the city’s downtown waterfront. It is one of only 170 antique wooden merry-go-rounds still existing in the U.S. Hand crafted by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park, Hampton's Carousel is a whirling tribute to the skill of its creators. The Hampton Carousel will operate under federal, state and City of Hampton COVID-19 protocols. Guests will be required to wear masks when inside the carousel building, practice social distancing, and use hand-sanitizer before and after rides.
