Public Works Storm Water Division Job Fair

Hampton Public Works is hosting a Job Fair at the Mary Jackson Community Center! Hampton Public Works will provide CDL Class A/Class B training, Entry Level positions with On the Job Training, Paid Sick Leave, Personal Time off plus more! Come out to apply and meet our Storm Water Division Leadership! All Applicants Welcome!!!

Basketball Open Court 40+

Lace up those converses and come join us for 40-year old and up basketball game. Those jump shots may be a little rusty but they're still there waiting to be shown off. Just like the good ole' days. 40+ members can have the opportunity to participate in pickup games without having to keep up with the youngsters.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Certification Course

HOW TO BECOME A RED CROSS LIFEGUARD: Swim 300 yards continuously without stopping, using front crawl or breaststroke Tread water for 2 minutes using the legs only Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 lb. diving brick from 7 - 10 feet deep. With both hands on the brick, swim back to the starting point, exit the pool without using a ladder, all within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Cornhole Social

Cornhole Social is taking place every Friday. Come participate with other players in a fun, friendly, and safe place!

FMCC-Shallow Water Aerobics

Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.

Coffee with a Cop

On March 24th from 8am-10am at Firehouse Coffee 1881 Hampton Police will hold their next Coffee with a Cop. It's a great opportunity to meet some of our police officers and have a great cup of coffee.

Special Olympics Track & Field

Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services is teaming up with Special Olympics Virginia to host track & field meets for individuals ages 8-22 with disabilities for the track & field season. Participation includes individual and team play, competing in local, regional, and state games.
