H2O Aerobics

Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercise in water such as in a swimming pool. It is done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water. Water aerobics is a form of aerobic exercise that requires water-immersed participants.

Basic & Therapeutic Taekwondo

Taekwondo is an art of self-defense that originated in Korea. This form of martial arts involves punching and kicking techniques. The Basic Taekwondo Class develops physical fitness as well as builds self confidence. The therapeutic Taekwondo Class is taught with accommodations. Students in this class advance at their own pace and learning forms. Both classes are designed for adults to children as young as 5 years old.

Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.

Therapeutic Recreation Camp Superstar

Campers will enjoy recreational activities with peers. Participants will have a summer of fun filled with games, creative activities and cooking. This program is designed for individuals with disabilities and requires advance registration and assessment. Participants must be able to use the restroom with minimal support, follow 2 step directions, and have a desire to participate. Therapeutic Recreation programs have a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio. Registration begins April 8.
