Experience the work these artists whose contraptions and conveyances conjure up a time when airships were commonplace and steam power ruled the world; an alternative Victorian era and an imagined Wild West frontier. Master steampunk makers Mike Parodi and Dave Lee bring their imaginations to life with a multitude of steampunk vehicles and props. Motor carriages, roadsters, airships and even tanks will all be on display in the museum. Meet the makers and hear the tall tales ofeach creations purpose. Joining us after a much-missed absence of several years are our friends from A Steampunked Life, bringing an array of their carefully curated wares, suitable for adventures near and far, or for an elegant evening about town.

Parks - Special Events

  1. Blackbeard Pirate Festival

    June 3, 2023, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
    @
    Mill Point Park

Free, handicapped and public parking is available in Downtown parking garages on Eaton Street and Settlers Landing Road, the City Hall parking lot, and in any legal, on-street parking spaces as marked. Parking in private residential or business lots is restricted as posted, with owner towing operations in effect (at your own expense). Once a year visitors from all over the country enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates. Hampton’s waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb, who transform today’s Hampton into the busy seaport of yesterday. Led by Blackbeard the pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton. The festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more!
